Software Engineer III

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level.
As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within Commercial Bank Technology and Sales Enablement team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure AWS solutions, actively contributing to troubleshoot of Java-based applications.
Job responsibilities
• Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
• Utilize AWS services such as ECS, EKS, S3, Lambda, RDS, and more to architect robust and cost-effective solutions.
• Collaborate with software development teams to enhance and optimize Java-based applications running on AWS.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design and development to testing and deployment.
• Identify and resolve complex issues related to AWS services, Java applications, and their interactions.
• Conduct performance tuning and optimization of AWS resources to ensure optimal system performance.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and Spinnaker to automate the build, test, and deployment processes.
• Ensure continuous integration and delivery best practices are followed for efficient and reliable software releases.
• Use Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to define and manage infrastructure.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for AWS architecture, infrastructure, and CI/CD processes.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
• Formal training or certification on AWS concepts and 3+ years applied experience
• AWS Associate Level Certificate or higher
• Good understanding on Terraform / HCL
• Proven experience in Java development and troubleshooting
• Strong background in AWS services and infrastructure management.
• Experience with Observability or logging tools . Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, CloudWatch.
• Drive to self-educate and evaluate new technology
• Strong communication skills with ability to mentor and educate others on site reliability principles and practices
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with security best practices in AWS.
• Knowledge of other programming languages is a plus.
• Knowledge on AI/ML model is a plus.
