Job Description: Faculty – Social Media & Creator EconomyLocation:K.R. Mangalam University, GurugramSchool:School of Emerging Media & Creator Economy (SEMCE)Position:Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor (depending on experience)Role OverviewWe are looking forcreative professionals and educatorswho can teach, mentor, and practice within the rapidly evolvingsocial media and creator economy space . The ideal candidate should combineacademic knowledge with hands-on expertise in digital content creation , includingcontent ideation,design, video editing, and campaign execution .This is not a traditional teaching role — we wantcontent creators, digital storytellers, and marketing strategistswho can work with students onreal projects, production labs, and brand collaborations .Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & MentorshipTeach courses insocial media strategy, content creation, influencer marketing, and digital brand building .Conducthands-on workshopsin design and editing tools: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, Canva, Figma, etc.Mentor students inbuilding their own creator brands— from concept to monetization.Content Creation & PracticeActively produce content (short-form video, graphics, campaign creatives) asteaching material and case studies .Collaborate with the university’s media team toshowcase SEMCE’s work on social platforms .Developmini-campaigns with studentsto simulate real-world creator economy workflows.Curriculum & InnovationDesignstudio-based courseswhere students create, edit, publish, and analyze content.Integrateemerging tools(AI in content creation, analytics dashboards, synthetic influencers, Web3 monetization).Industry EngagementBring in live projects from agencies, startups, and creator brands.Organizecontent hackathons, brand collaborations, and creator bootcamps .Build student exposure through guest sessions, workshops, and internship pipelines.Qualifications & ExperienceMaster’s/Ph.D. inMedia Studies, Communication, Design, Marketing, or related fields .OR strongindustry/practitioner profilein digital media, content creation, or influencer marketing.Hands-on expertisein Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects), Canva, Figma, and social media publishing tools.Experience inrunning campaigns, managing brand collabs, or growing creator accountspreferred.Strongportfolio of work(social media campaigns, video projects, design work, or creator brand).Skills & CompetenciesExpertise incontent ideation, visual storytelling, graphic design, and video production .Ability to guide students onend-to-end content pipelines : ideation → production → publishing → analytics → monetization.Deep understanding ofplatform dynamics (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn) .Knowledge ofanalytics tools(Meta Ads Manager, YouTube Studio, Google Analytics).Strongmentorship mindset— inspire students to become content creators, not just consumers.Passion for staying updated withsocial media trends, tools, and monetization models .
