Role Overview:

As a Quality Assurance Engineer in our sheet metal, machining, and fabrication environment, you will be responsible for overseeing the quality control processes throughout the production cycle. Your primary focus will be on maintaining high standards of product quality, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing effective quality control measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain comprehensive quality control procedures for sheet metal fabrication and machining processes. Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Inspection and Testing: Conduct regular inspections and testing of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products to verify conformance to specifications and quality standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of quality control data, inspection results, and non-conformances. Generate reports detailing quality metrics and trends for management review.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and quality enhancement. Collaborate with production teams to implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Evaluate the quality of incoming materials and components from suppliers. Work closely with procurement to address any quality issues and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Training and Development: Provide training to production staff on quality control procedures, standards, and best practices. Foster a culture of quality consciousness and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Investigate quality incidents, defects, and customer complaints to determine root causes. Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Monitor customer feedback and satisfaction levels regarding product quality. Address any quality-related concerns or complaints in a timely and effective manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in quality assurance, quality control, or a similar role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in sheet metal fabrication and machining.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control).
  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Familiarity with quality standards and regulations applicable to the sheet metal and machining industry (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar professional certification is a plus.
