Role Overview

An
FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) Engineer – Designing & Planning
is responsible for designing, planning, and implementing
fiber optic network infrastructure
to deliver broadband services to end-users. They ensure efficient use of resources, compliance with telecom standards, and smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing
    FTTH network designs
    (FTTx, GPON, GIS-based layouts).
  • Creating
    fiber route plans
    , duct layouts, and feasibility studies.
  • Using
    GIS/AutoCAD/Google Earth
    for mapping and network planning.
  • Preparing
    BOQ (Bill of Quantities), BOM (Bill of Materials)
    for project execution.
  • Coordinating with survey teams to validate site data.
  • Optimizing fiber usage, split ratios, and OLT/ONT placements.
  • Supporting field teams with technical guidance during implementation.
  • Ensuring compliance with telecom, quality, and safety standards.
  • Documentation and reporting of design plans for client approvals.

Skills Required

  • Strong knowledge of
    FTTH / GPON architecture
    .
  • Proficiency in
    AutoCAD, GIS tools, MS Excel, Google Earth
    .
  • Understanding of
    fiber splicing, ODF, OLT, ONT, splitters, ducts, manholes
    .
  • Planning and analytical skills for route optimization.
  • Knowledge of
    ROW (Right of Way)
    procedures and telecom regulations.
  • Good communication and coordination with survey/execution teams.

Qualification

  • Diploma / B.Tech in
    Electronics, Electrical, Telecom, or Civil Engineering
    .
  • 1–5 years of experience in
    FTTH design, planning, or telecom projects
    .
