Role Title: Site Engineer - Asset Management of Wind Power Plant
Experience: 6 to 12 years
Education: B. Tech (Mechanical or Electrical is mandatory)
Job Overview:
The Site Engineer is responsible for smooth functioning, managing the day-to-day activities of the Wind power plant and providing updates to both the site and head office stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and coordinate the day-to-day performance of operating WTGs following the guidelines.
Report site status by 10:30 hrs and provide real-time status updates.
Send daily plans and various reports to the head office within the first hour of the office day.
Monitor HSE parameters to be followed by OEM teams and third-party contractors.
Prepare and share weekly and monthly reports.
Track repetitive warnings, WTG errors, and feeder tripping; ensure relevant work is completed by OEMs.
Monitor conditional parameter readings (CMS) recorded by OEM personnel and report any deviations to management.
Supervise and witness all activities performed by OEMs and their subcontractors as required.
Perform physical on-site inspections of the turbines, balance of plant works, and inspect the general state of the site.
Ensure safety at all work sites, report near misses, unsafe conditions, and incidents.
Send the next day's plan to the head office before the end of office hours.
Ensure minimum spares availability at respective sites in coordination with OEMs. Immediately alert the site in charge of any spares consumption and shortages.
Ensure sufficient service kits are available at the site to carry out PM activities.
Perform data analysis on turbine production data (Power Curve Analysis) and advise OEMs on performance improvement daily/weekly.
Prepare and present regular internal reports accurately and timely.
Ensure adherence to scheduled activities and statutory inspection requirements.
Perform physical on-site inspections of all assets, including turbines, HT lines, roads, and pathways.
Attend monthly meetings with the head office and implement MOM decisions at the site.
Collect MOM copies from senior meetings at the head office and implement the agreed points within the timelines. Inform the next level of any deviations/variations in implementation.
Complete the monthly checklist sign-off with all OEMs and collect documents as per statutory requirements.
Follow all company policies and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience - 6 to 12 years of relevant experience in managing WTG (Wind Turbine Generator) and other parts of Wind power plant. Incumbent who would have good experience in Asset Operations/management or Operations & Maintenance of WTG will be suitable for this role.
Education - B. Tech (Mech. Or Electrical must)
Communication - Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively report and discuss site activities and issues with team members and management.
Attention to Detail - Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate reporting and monitoring of site conditions and performance data.
Problem-Solving - Strong problem-solving skills to identify, analyze, and resolve operational issues promptly.
Team Collaboration - Ability to work collaboratively with OEM teams, contractors, and internal departments.
Time Management - Skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines consistently.
Initiative - Proactive approach to identifying potential issues and implementing solutions to enhance site performance.
