An Integration Engineer is responsible for the technical initiation, maintenance, integration
documentation, and modification of system interfaces. This position will perform the analysis,
development, validation, and documentation of the interface engine. In this position, we will interact
with internal and external teams throughout multiple project phases and are charged with ensuring
the services that he/she provide to the successful accomplishment of the primary mission of the
company. The position supports both client and Clarapath project management teams to help meet
project schedules, plans and timelines.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
● Lead the technical implementation of HIE (Health Information Exchange) and system
interfaces using Mirth tool and support customer facing applications.
● Lead the design and implementation Health Information Exchange data integration
● Facilitate and lead detailed HL7 and FHIR interface mapping discussions with new &
existing customers, and third party system vendors
● Collaborate with system analysts and interface engineers within the customer's IT
organization.
● Provide customer support and technical issue resolution relating to system interfaces.
● Work collaboratively with architecture team to ensure that the proposed solution is aligned
with system architecture direction
● Develop in agile development methodology including user stories, continuous integration
and test driven development
● Translate Business Requirements and/or Functional Specifications into technical solutions
and develops technical design specifications
● Demonstrate superb communication and human relationship skills.
● Provide recommendations for improvements in processes.
● Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
● Bachelor’s or equivalent degrees are strongly preferred.
● 5+ years of technical customer service experience and interaction with healthcare IT
vendors and hospital IT staff on technical issues.
● 5+ years of HL7 interface analysis, development, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
● Experience with NextGen Connect (formerly known as Mirth Connect) for building interfaces
with HL7 V2.6+ (traditional version) and 3.x (xml based version) and FHIR.
● Experience with LIS (Laboratory Information System) applications, hospital and/or
Pathology/Oncology systems such as EPIC, Cerner, MetaTech, Orchard Soft, SunQuest, and
Soft Computer.
● Good experience in onboarding new customers and maintenance of large-scale customers
with multiple workflow configurations.
● Expertise building real-time interfaces for ADT, ORM, ORU, DFT, SIU, transaction types.
● Experience working on and configuring message transfer protocols including TCP/IP, FTP,
SFTP, Web Services (SOAP) etc.
● Good understanding of LAN’s, WAN’s, VPN’s and Network data communications
● Proficient in performing Unit testing, System testing, Integrated testing, Regression testing
and assisting with UAT
● Experience with the change management process for implementation of interfaces.
