Role & responsibilities

  • Customize and extend Moodle functionalities through plugin development, theming,

and core modifications as required.

  • Collaborate with product and design teams to translate business requirements into

scalable Moodle features.

  • Develop and maintain custom integrations with third-party tools (SSO, payment

gateways, analytics, etc.).

  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain the performance and security of Moodle

instances.

  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment in a Continous Integration (CI)/

Continous Delivery (CD) environment.

  • Stay current with Moodle upgrades, patches, and the open-source Moodle

community to recommend enhancements.

  • Document code, architecture, and configurations to ensure maintainability and

knowledge sharing.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 25 years of hands-on experience working with Moodle development.
  • Strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
  • Experience with Moodle API, plugin architecture, and theming system.
  • Integration with external systems.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile development practices.
  • Experience working in a SaaS or cloud-based product environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience with cron jobs, and performance optimization.
  • Understanding of SCORM, xAPI, or LTI standards.
  • Familiarity with GCP cloud tools.
