Job Summary:

The 
Senior
 
Structural
 Engineer is responsible for the design, layout, and 
structural
 analysis of new or existing communication structures for wireless telecommunication sites (sector frame, T-frame, platform and custom angle mounts, SST GT Monopole towers, foundations, tripod – ballast rooftop mounts, etc.). The role focuses on 
Structural
Engineering Modelling and Analysis
—primarily utilising 3D 
structural
 analysis software (RISA 3D)—for the US telecommunications market. The position involves collaboration with 
senior
 engineers, using site drone photographs for assessment, and proposing 
structural
 solutions. Training is provided by 
senior
 engineers. Knowledge of American codes (TIA, ASCE) is crucial.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Investigate site drone photos to assess 
  structural
   conditions of mounts and tower 
  structural
   members, including steel pipes, angles, plates, bolts, and welds.
• Inspect photographic data and use principles of scaling and fabrication/survey documentation.
• Prepare formal written reports for clients summarising results and recommending actions based on 
  structural
   engineering principles.
• Perform calculations per American building code requirements (TIA, ASCE).
• Collaborate with 
  structural
   and drafting groups to prepare, draft, and review analysis models, reports, and drawings.
• Perform and review 
  structural
   analyses of communication towers, antenna mounts, and related structures as per governing building codes.
• Use a variety of engineering software, including finite element analysis (FEA) programs (e.g., RISA 3D, TNX Tower).
• Design and review basic to moderately complex 
  structural
   modifications to increase structure and foundation capacity as required.
• Assist 
  senior
   engineers in designing efficient 
  structural
   modifications when needed.

Structural
Responsibilities:

• Structural
   analysis of 3D truss communication towers and mounts using FEA software.
• Review and assess modifications to increase tower and foundation capacities.
• Support 
  senior
   engineering staff on advanced or complex analysis and design tasks.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Proficiency with 
  structural
   analysis software (RISA 3D, TNX Tower, or equivalent FEA tools).
• Strong computer skills—Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). Excel VBA knowledge is a plus.
• Good understanding of core Civil and 
  Structural
   Engineering concepts: SFD, BMD, strength of materials, local vs. global axes, steel and RCC design, foundation engineering, etc.
• Effective verbal and written communication, both with internal teams and external clients.
• Knowledge of American 
  structural
   engineering standards and telecom industry codes (TIA, ASCE).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and set priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Education and Experience:

• B.E/B.Tech in Civil Engineering (Mechanical Engineering considered if relevant 
  structural
   experience is confirmed).
• M.E/M.Tech in 
  Structural
   Engineering or equivalent preferred.
• Structural
   engineering course/project emphasis.
• 3–6 years of telecom 
  structural
   experience preferred; otherwise, 4–8 years of applicable engineering experience.
