Your key job responsibilities as the Senior Back-end Developer in Johannesburg will include:
- Analyze user requirements and translate them into design documents.
- Design system architectures, encompassing software, hardware, and communications, to fulfill current and future cross-functional needs and
- Create high-level system design diagrams to guide program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation processes.
- Develop and implement web applications of varying complexity across multiple platforms.
- Design, develop, and test software components, including applications, websites, data communication processes, and user interfaces.
- Write programming code and develop CI/CD pipelines in accordance with DevOps standards.
- Test, maintain, and recommend software enhancements to ensure robust functionality and optimization.
- Collaborate with team members to review code and conduct unit testing.
- Oversee Software Developers working with product owners, test analysts, and QA engineers on system component and program development, testing, and deployment.
- Resolve complex technical design issues and provide comprehensive support to internal customers.
- Work with architects to make sound technical decisions that address business challenges effectively.
- Identify opportunities to improve system performance and availability.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews and evaluate existing and new software products.
- Facilitate root cause analysis of system issues as needed.
- Stay updated on industry technological developments and apply insights appropriately.
- Collaborate with the Lead Developer to determine best practices and requirements for software development.
- Work with stakeholders to meet user requirements and agreed SLAs.
- Conduct feasibility studies for software system upgrades.
- Provide clear and regular feedback to management.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers and technical support colleagues.
- Assist technical writers with documentation and user manuals.
- Assign tasks to junior developers, such as coding, testing, debugging, and analytics.
- Mentor junior developers on programming techniques, design patterns, and best practices.
- Assist technical stakeholders in enforcing Agile methodology within the development team.
- Support code reviews, pair programming coordination, and implementation of best practices and coding standards.
- Collaborate with project management to plan project schedules and technical direction.
Requirements
Requirements for this Senior Back-end Developer job in Johannesburg :
- RESTful API Development with .NET Core: 2+ years of experience
- Messaging Tools (e.g., RabbitMQ): Extensive use required
- C# 6.0: 4+ years of experience
- Elastic Stack: 1+ years of experience
- NodeJS Development: 1+ years of experience
- Database Management: Experience with MS SQL & NoSQL (Couchbase, MongoDB, Azure Cosmos DB)
- Caching Solutions: In-memory & distributed caching (MS SQL, Redis, NCache)
- Microservices Development
- Unit Testing Expertise
