Summary:

Forestry professional with 2+ years of experience in forest-based land assessment, carbon inventory, and field implementation of nature-based solutions. Skilled in forest inventory methods, biomass and soil carbon sampling, and technical field coordination. Experienced in supporting reforestation, agroforestry projects across South India aimed at carbon sequestration. Capable of contributing to planning, stakeholder engagement, and project documentation aligned with voluntary and compliance carbon standards.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute forestry-based carbon fieldwork, including forest inventory, biomass estimation, and soil carbon sampling in alignment with carbon project protocols (e.g., Verra/VCS, Gold Standard).
  • Conduct tree measurements (DBH, height), plot establishment, species identification, in diverse forest and agroforestry landscapes.
  • Supervise and coordinate technical field teams for efficient and accurate data collection and management.
  • Support the preparation of Project Design Documents (PDDs) and feasibility studies
  • Ensure adherence to field protocols, health & safety guidelines, and quality assurance in field operations.

Background:

  • Diploma/Bachelor's/Master's in Forestry, Agroforestry, Silviculture, or related natural resource discipline with 2–3 years of relevant field experience in forestry and land-based carbon projects.
  • GIS will be a plus not necessary

Language:

  • Fluent in English with excellent reading, writing, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in at least one South Indian language (Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam) is
    mandatory

Travel & Stay:

  • Frequent travel across Indian states for forestry fieldwork with project teams is required.
  • Short-term stays (2 weeks), relocation to the project site is mandatory
