Roles and Responsibilities: Strategic Planning & Leadership - Formulate and implement institutional policies, guidelines, and procedures for sponsored research and consultancy in alignment with UGC, AICTE, and funding agency norms. - Develop and execute a strategic roadmap to expand externally funded research and consultancy engagements. - Represent the university at funding agency meetings, industry forums, and national/international research networks. Research Project Facilitation - Identify and disseminate funding opportunities from agencies such as DST, DBT, SERB, DRDO, AICTE, CSR foundations, and international bodies. - Review project proposals for technical soundness, financial accuracy, and regulatory compliance. - Facilitate approvals, MoUs, NDAs, and contracts with sponsors and partners. Consultancy Management - Promote consultancy services by mapping faculty expertise to industry needs and opportunities. - Develop consultancy policy frameworks, pricing models, and revenue-sharing mechanisms. - Oversee preparation and submission of technical and financial proposals for consultancy projects. Financial & Administrative Oversight - Coordinate with the Finance Office for fund management, utilization certificates (UCs), audits, and financial reporting. - Maintain databases of active and completed projects, including fund flow and progress statements. Capacity Building & Promotion - Organize workshops and training sessions on proposal writing, funding schemes, and IP awareness. - Encourage faculty and students to engage in applied research, innovation, and consultancy projects. Experience: - Minimum 10 years of experience in academic or R&D institutions, with at least 5 years in sponsored research or consultancy management roles. - Proven experience in liaising with national and international funding agencies, industry partners, and government bodies. Educational Qualification: - Ph.D. in Engineering, Science, Management, or an allied field from a recognized university/institution with a strong research background. - Additional certifications in research management, intellectual property (IP), or project administration will be an added advantage.
