Roles and Responsibilities


  • Develop courses and curricula to meet industry standards and societal needs.
  • Facilitate and carry out joint research projects and consultancy services with industry experts.
  • Introduce new courses, evolve existing courses and deliver lectures as per GITAM Policies.
  • Encourage students in innovation and entrepreneurship projects & provide necessary mentorship for these activities.
  • Focus on enhanced industry-academia collaborations for internship opportunities, guest lectures, and training workshops.
  • Organize and Conduct workshops, and seminars, and deliver special lectures and training programs jointly in collaboration with a regular faculty member of the institution.
  • Develop cases, teaching aids, and assessment methods in the area of expertise and provide constructive feedback, enforce standards of academic integrity, and utilise university grading rubrics effectively to assess student work.
  • Serve as an academic advisor to graduate and undergraduate students and be available to faculty and students for consultation in one's area of expertise.
  • Assist and collaborate with other cross-functional teams for the program, like marketing, placement and admissions teams
  • Promote the quality of research journals published by the University and set up a research incubation centre.

  • Distinguished experts have made remarkable contributions in their professions from various fields such as engineering, science, technology, entrepreneurship, commerce, social sciences, media, literature, fine arts, the legal profession, water-harvesting, organic farming and green energy systems. Those with proven expertise in their profession or role, preferably at a senior level, will be eligible for the professor of practice position.
