Primary Purpose of Position:


  • Identify the right suppliers and factories to ensure capability and timely order execution.
  • Ensure product quality, delivery and price objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Support, coordinate and follow up sourcing activities with cross functional teams/suppliers.
  • Manage sourcing operational tasks including tools and information to ensure accurate and timely execution of orders .
  • Compilation of key reports and data.
  • Track T&A and WIP to ensure on-time order execution.
  • Develop knowledge of suppliers capabilities, capacity and performance and contribute to the right placement decisions.
  • Support cost negotiations based on an understanding of component pricing.
  • Coordinate sourcing efforts with cross functional teams for the respective Dept/Category.


Specific Duties and Accountabilities of the Job:



  • Manage T&A across locations to ensure timely execution of orders, proactively identifying potential product and production issues.
  • Distribute product specs to the designated supplier. Understand and highlight product requirements of each program to relevant cross functional teams/Suppliers.
  • Involve Cross Functional Teams to achieve quality, price and delivery requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and consistent execution of component costing.
  • Ensure all supplier quotations and samples are completed in a timely manner for appropriate decision making.
  • Execute placements based on supplier capability, capacity, quality & delivery performance.
  • Maintain and update the performance data of each supplier on a regular basis. Monitor supplier performance.
  • Contribute towards relevant business reports and recaps to better understand and manage the business.
  • Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects/tasks as needed or directed.


Key Skills:


  • Knowledge of suppliers and factories. Able to discern performance differences between various manufacturers.
  • Technical garment knowledge is required.
  • Understanding of garment specifications, components and construction. Basic production knowledge.
  • Highly motivated with high sense of urgency and initiative. Takes ownership.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Good negotiation skills in working with suppliers on product and price.
  • Team player with ability to work with associates from different cultures.
  • Able to coordinate efforts of cross functional associates and work together in a positive and collaborative manner.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and timelines and keep them on track.
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Proficient PC skills including MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Excellent command of English and local language. Good communication skills.
