Signage Wayfinding Architect, you will be responsible for creating effective and user-friendly signage systems that guide people through complex environments and enhance their overall experience.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop wayfinding strategies and signage master plans that address spatial orientation, circulation patterns, and informational needs.
  • Collaborating with architects, designers, and stakeholders to develop comprehensive wayfinding strategies and design solutions that meet the needs of diverse user groups.
  • Design signage elements, including directional signs, maps, symbols, and graphic identities, that are clear, concise, and visually engaging.
  • Coordinate with architects, interior designers, and graphic designers to integrate signage seamlessly into the built environment and architectural context.
  • Ensure compliance with accessibility standards and regulations, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and international wayfinding standards.
  • Collaborate with fabricators, contractors, and vendors to oversee the production, fabrication, and installation of signage elements.
  • Conduct post-occupancy evaluations and user feedback sessions to assess the effectiveness of signage systems and identify areas for improvement.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Environmental Graphic Design, or related field.
  • Proven experience in signage design, wayfinding, and environmental graphic design, preferably in architectural or urban design projects.
  • Strong understanding of spatial organization, human behavior, and cognitive psychology as they relate to wayfinding and navigation.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) for creating signage layouts and graphics.
  • Knowledge of materials, fabrication techniques, and installation methods commonly used in signage production.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Portfolio showcasing previous signage and wayfinding projects is a plus.
