The Bentley Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the implementation, management, and optimization of Bentley Systems software, such as MicroStation, Open Buildings Designer, and ProjectWise, within the organization. This role includes providing technical support, training team members, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and enhancing project workflows through the effective use of Bentley software.


Responsibilities:


1. Software Management:

  • Implement and manage Bentley Open Buildings Designer software across projects.
  • Ensure the software is updated and maintained regularly.
  • Coordinate with IT for software installations, updates, and troubleshooting.

2. Project Coordination:

  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure the effective use of Open Buildings Designer.
  • Develop and maintain project-specific BIM (Building Information Modelling) standards and protocols
  • Facilitate the integration of Open Buildings Designer with other project management and design software.

3. Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support and training to team members on the use of Open Buildings Designer
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues promptly.
  • Create and distribute user guides, tutorials, and best practices documentation.

4. Workflow Optimization:

  • Analyse current workflows and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Implement automated processes and custom scripts to streamline design workflows.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with established standards and protocols.

5. Quality Control:

  • Conduct regular quality control checks on models and drawings produced with Open Buildings Designer
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in design documentation.
  • Address and rectify any discrepancies or issues identified during quality checks.

6. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Act as a liaison between different departments to ensure seamless
  • communication and collaboration.
  • Attend project meetings and provide updates on software-related matters.
  • Foster a collaborative environment to encourage knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

7. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of software usage, issues, and resolutions.
  • Generate reports on software performance and project progress.
  • Document feedback from users and suggest improvements based on their input.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience using Bentley Open Buildings Designer or similar BIM software.
  • Strong understanding of architectural and engineering design processes.
  • Proficient in BIM standards and protocols.
  • Excellent technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience with other Bentley software (e.g., MicroStation, ProjectWise) is a plus.


Preferred Skills:


  • Certification in Bentley Open Buildings Designer.
  • Experience in training and mentoring team members.
  • Familiarity with other design and project management software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks).
