Overview: The SeniorPurchase cum Costing Engineer in Supply Chain Management (SCM)plays a crucial role in the Aerospace Industry ensuring the timelyand costeffective procurement of materials and components foraircraft manufacturing. This role directly impacts the efficiencyand profitability of the aerospace operations by overseeing thepurchasing process and analyzing costs to drive strategicdecisionmaking.KeyResponsibilities:
  • Develop andimplement strategic purchasing plans to optimize cost and qualityof materials
  • Conduct cost analysis and pricenegotiations with suppliers to secure favorableterms
  • Collaborate with engineering andproduction teams to understand materialrequirements
  • Evaluate supplier performance andmaintain strong supplier relationships
  • Monitormarket trends and industry developments relevant to supply chainand cost management
  • Lead value analysis andvalue engineering initiatives to drive costsavings
  • Ensure compliance with regulatorystandards and industry best practices
  • Manageinventory levels and optimize material flow to support productionschedules
  • Participate in crossfunctional teamsto drive continuous improvementinitiatives
  • Prepare and present reports onpurchasing and costing activities to seniormanagement
  • Stay updated with aerospace industrytrends and developments
  • Utilize ERP and SCMsoftware for effective procurement and costcontrol
  • Contribute to supplier selection andqualification processes
  • Resolve procurement andcosting related issues in a timely and effectivemanner
  • Drive initiatives for standardizing andoptimizing purchase and costingprocesses
RequiredQualifications:
  • Bachelors degree inEngineering Supply Chain Management or a relatedfield
  • 5 years of experience in procurement andcosting within the aerospaceindustry
  • Demonstrated expertise in negotiationand supplier management
  • Proficiency in costanalysis and financial evaluation
  • Indepthknowledge of aerospace materials components and manufacturingprocesses
  • Strong understanding of supply chainprinciples and best practices
  • Excellentcommunication and interpersonalskills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability tomake datadriven decisions
  • Proficiency in ERPsystems and advanced MS Excelskills
  • Certification in Supply Chain Managementor related field is a plus
  • Ability to workeffectively in a crossfunctional and fastpacedenvironment
  • Strong problemsolving anddecisionmaking abilities
  • Experience withcontinuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or SixSigma
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements andindustry standards in aerospaceprocurement
  • Proven track record of driving costsavings and processimprovements
