About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Technology Director to Lead the Stability swarm function across the Commercial, Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT) application support functions (Platform team), that supports revenue growth for Commercial, Corporate & Investment Banking Businesses through the implementation of industry leading practices, tools and technologies.
While leading the stability swarm team from I&P Reporting to the Head of CCIBT Platform WFIP (hard line) and Global CCIBT Platform head (dotted line), should work on the growth of key focus like
In this role, you will:
  • This leader will be working on stability and resiliency with the platform teams business verticals of applications for Commercial, Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT)
  • This leader will support applications including the technology teams to meeting enterprise commitments for stability.
  • Accountable for platform stability engineering and automation across CCIBT applications for greater effectiveness, efficiency and less manual intervention.
  • Accountable for wtrategic and urgent execution of the Safety and Soundness initiatives
  • Accountable for working with teams to see how follow ups to Incident/issues of all severity level issues from high severity issues to lower severity trouble tickets can improve stability. Strong partnership with incident leaders for metrics and trending analysis, root cause and preventative action work leading to stability
  • Accountable for leading operational stability practices design, with a focus on consistent practices across the CCIBT space
  • Accountable for financial management and rigor - Support financial forecast and budget development as needed
  • Accountable for Stability team and talent management for the team - managing and develop this team of engineers
  • Partner with more experienced product leaders, lead systems architects, and engineering managers to develop product stability functional and technical strategies for the line of business product portfolio, and with more experienced product leaders to drive strategic outcomes
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for continuously improving software stability engineering practices and productivity of teams in CCIBT
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in Software Engineering
  • Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders
  • Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans
  • Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices
  • Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third party providers
  • Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
  • Develop strategies for hiring engineering talent
  • Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
  • Lead team to achieve objectives
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of Management experience
  • Demonstrable track record of transformation, in particular using technology to transform manual processes
  • Significant exposure to application stability management, application support and managing production environments
  • Considerable experience managing platform support functions in a fast paced environment
Desired Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of technology infrastructure and strategy experience
  • 7+ years of management experience in technology
  • Demonstrated prior experiences in Senior level leadership
  • Ability to effectively drive and lead change in an organization with Wells Fargo's size, scale and complexity
  • Demonstrated experience in building, leading, developing and retaining a high performing Talent
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Financial Services domain
    Ability to develop technology strategy, operating model & roadmaps with clear objectives and aligned with business, enterprise and WFT strategies
  • Broad experience across multiple areas of technology including one or more of architecture, infrastructure and application development with strong understanding of leading edge as well as legacy and distributed technologies to effectively manage the stability of a complex and diverse application portfolio
  • Proven experience as a highly effective leader with credibility from demonstrating strong business and technology acumen
  • Highly effective decision-making/critical thinking/problem solving skills with a collaborative and results oriented leadership style
  • Demonstrated experience motivating and influencing groups or individuals across organizational boundaries to gain trust and confidence to make timely decisions
  • Proven experience in establishing a vision, developing the strategy to support the vision, gaining consensus across key functional leadership through effective communication, and driving action towards the vision through the effective management of goals and objectives
  • Demonstrated vendor negotiation and partnership skills
    Excellent communication (oral and written) with ability to communicate at multiple levels ranging from technologists to senior managers and executive leadership
