Job Description
We are looking for an IAM Engineer to join the team at one of our most valued clients, a Big 4 consultancy, supporting an IT transformation for a large energy client.
The successful candidate will integrate into the consultancy's team and work directly with the end client, providing subject matter expertise to support the project.
Type of job: Contract / freelance
Working hours: Full-time (40 hours / week)
Duration: ASAP - 31.12.2024 with option of further extensions
Location: Hybrid - remote with up to 50% in Berlin (negotiable)

Project background
The team is building an internal platform (EDP) for software product developers to accelerate the development and delivery of software products to tackle the massive challenges facing the energy sector. The platform is a service oriented, cloud-native platform that is being built to provide application teams with self-service capabilities to develop, run and operate their software products. The platform provides services for application infrastructure, data, service lifecycle management, application build and delivery, as well as services to operate their software products. The platform is deployed in a hybrid cloud, encompassing both private cloud and select public clouds.
We are looking for talented, experienced and motivated individuals to join this project.
Position description
We seek an experienced and passionate IAM engineer to join our international team. As an IAM Engineer working on EDP, you will play a crucial role in crafting, implementing and maintaining our IAM infrastructure, focusing on ensuring secure access to services. You will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of our IAM solution and the technical IAM integration of the services developed on EDP. Your work is characterised by close collaboration with our IAM architect and product owner.
Key activities
  • Automate the setup and configuration of a distributed IAM solution in Kubernetes within Google Cloud Platform using GitLab and ArgoCD and extend it to on-premise deployments.
  • Integrate various tools and services using ODIC workflows and configure relevant group/role/permission mappings based on functional and technical role concepts provided by IAM architects via Terraform scripts.
  • Be the contact person for other development teams to implement their solutions and requirements and for operational issues.
  • Contribute to the SAFe and Scrum process organised in regular meetings.

Requirements Eligibility
  • All candidates must be resident in and have the unrestricted right to work in the EU
  • All candidates must be able to travel to the client site in Berlin as required

Must-have competencies / skills
  • At least three years of experience implementing and maintaining AIM solutions
  • The individual must be at mid-senior level in development, operations and engineering with proven skills and experience with Cloud provider IDM/IAM tools, especially AD(FS), integration of cloud and on-premise services and configuration federation/replication of directory infrastructure
  • Using public clouds (GCP, Azure)
  • Technical understanding of IDM (Principal, Identity, Role, Legal and Co)
  • Proven experience with Keycloak and Hashicorp Vault Strong knowledge of Open DI Connect and SAML
  • Experience with Kubernetes and helm charts/terraform
  • Fluent English in speech and writing (at least B2)

Optional competencies / skills
  • Understanding of modern software/service delivery frameworks (DevOps and CI/CD, Cloud Native, Service Oriented Architecture)
  • German language skills
