This role is of a Controls and Information Systems Consultant with focus on developing GMI standard Controls Technology, applications and tools to minimize operations losses and enhance system performance and product quality.

Responsibilities require the incumbent to possess demonstrated ability to develop and drive engineering solutions to Improve, Extend and Sustain GMI Manufacturing Assets and also help meet its business and regulatory requirements. The Engineering Solutions India team caters to engineering requirements for all food manufacturing plants (50+) worldwide in Controls Engineering

  • Proven expertise in controls and information technology viz. Instrumentation, PLC, HMI, SCADA, MES, MOM, Electrical System Design, Enterprise / Plant Floor Integration and plant and enterprise networks viz. Ethernet, Devicenet, Profinet, and Controlnet etc.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Design, installation and commissioning.
  • Systems expertise in Wonderware/ Aveva System Platform, Rockwell, Siemens

Programming experience in .NET, Iron Python, Power Shell, XML, R, SQL

Education & Experience

Educational Qualification- Bachelor's in Electrical/Computer/Instrumentation Engineering

Total Years of Relevant Experience: 12+ years in controls/automation

Plant Floor Exposure

On-site experience with commissioning, troubleshooting, line integration

Project Execution Experience

End-to-end project delivery (design to commissioning)

Technical Skills & Tools

Aveva System Platform & OMI - Hands-on Development ,config, graphics, alarms, dashboards, Historian

PLC Programming (Rockwell) - Proficient in ControlLogix/Studio 5000

OT Cybersecurity Knowledge- Access control, patching, segmentation, threat response

Industrial Network Infrastructure - VLANs, managed switches, firewall, IP addressing

Instrumentation & Field Devices- Familiar with sensors, transmitters, actuators

Industrial Protocols - Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc.

IT Programming/Databases- Experience with SQL, scripting (e.g., Python, VB, .NET), data logging

Electrical Knowledge- Panel design basics, MCCs, single-line diagrams

Batching System Experience - Programming batching apps using ISA-88 / recipe control

Broader Technical Exposure

Industry 4.0 - Hands-on or conceptual involvement in digitalization

MES Integration- Data exchange between MES and SCADA/PLC

Virtualization- Experience with VMware, Hyper-V for SCADA/servers

Regulatory Standards /Electrical & Safety Standards - Worked in FDA/OSHA-compliant environments, Familiarity with industrial electrical codes, lockout/tagout, NFPA, OSHA, etc.
