Embedded Android Open Source Project (AOSP) Team Lead

to join our

Pune

office, taking charge of a team of highly skilled Software Engineers. If you possess a robust background in Android application development,

Provide expert technical guidance and leadership to a team of skilled Software Engineers specializing in

Embedded Android Open Source Project (AOSP) Development .

Ensure the team's success in delivering high-quality solutions for automotive, medical devices, and consumer electronics.

Leverage your in-depth knowledge of the

Android Open Source Project (

AOSP

)

to design and implement Android-based solutions meeting customer requirements.

Stay up-to-date with

AOSP developments

and apply best practices.

Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and maintain

Android Operating System (OS)

expertise.

Foster a culture of excellence in code quality within the team.

Drive process improvements within the team and contribute to defining the technology roadmap in alignment with the company's strategic goals.

Continuously seek opportunities for optimization and innovation.

Participate in the development, communication, and implementation of software development policies, procedures, and best practices to maintain consistency and efficiency.

Collaborate effectively with other internal

team leaders

and

cross-functional teams

to ensure successful project execution.

Engage with customers as necessary to understand and address their needs.

Create and maintain an optimal working environment for the Software Engineers by providing the necessary tools, resources, and guidance to facilitate their productivity.

Communicate effectively with

stakeholders , including the

Regional Engineering Manager

and the

Engineering Team , providing updates on team progress and addressing any issues or challenges.

Support the recruitment of Software Engineers, oversee their onboarding, and take responsibility for their professional development through mentoring and skill-building opportunities.

Coordinate and cooperate with all project developers, project management, and various development teams to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.

Requirements What you will bring:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in

Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information and Communication Technology,

or a related field.

At Least

5 years

of experience in embedded software development with at least

2 years in a leadership role

in a high-tech environment.

Strong background in

Android application development ,

Android OS, Board Support Package (BSP), Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL),

Linux-based operating systems, and proficiency in

C/C++

and/or

Java programming .

Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing Android-based solutions with a deep understanding of

Android Open Source Project (AOSP).

Experience in a continuous integration environment and familiarity with integrating with build systems like

Yocto, Buildroot , or others.

Strong version control skills using

SVN, GIT , or similar tools.

In-depth experience in software development, including object-oriented programming and agile methodologies.

Solid scripting skills in languages such as

bash, python , or others.

Enthusiasm for working with embedded hardware.

Excellent team player with experience collaborating in international teams.

Responsible and value-oriented communication with colleagues, employees, and customer contacts.

RequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields. 4+ years of professional experience in Android application development. Strong proficiency in C/C++ and/or Java development for system-level programming. In-depth knowledge of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), Android OS, and Android ecosystem. Experience with Board Support Package (BSP) development and hardware-software integration. Familiarity with the Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) and its role in Android system architecture. Solid understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices. Proficiency in collaborating with cross-functional teams and working in an Agile/Scrum environment. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks. A passion for staying updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
