Vedanta is a $30bn revenue and $10bn in profit organization and further plans to invest $20bn in 4-5 years’ time in the expansion of their brown field and some green field capacity of Oil & Gas, Renewable energy, display glass, semiconductor, mining and smelting. Vedanta Limited operates a 2 MTPA (million tonnes per annum) capacity alumina refinery in Lanjigarh (Kalahandi district, Odisha), India since 2007 and an associated 90 MW captive power plant at Lanjigarh, which was commissioned in 2008. The refinery feeds Vedanta’s aluminium smelters at Jharsuguda in Odisha and at BALCO in Korba, Chhattisgarh. This refinery is on a growth trajectory and poised to expand to 5 MTPA by FY24.
We are inviting applications from dynamic professionals interested to be a part of Vedanta Alumina's growth trajectory. The deliverables of the position includes:
Develop, implement, and maintain security processes, practices, and policies in the organization to reduce / mitigate security and other risks, ensure adequate response to incidents and events.
Ensure continuous monitoring, review and reporting of security risks based on the effectiveness of controls to reduce exposure to the company and business operations.
Develop and maintain strong relations with law enforcement agencies and other related government agencies.
Ensure compliance and security assurance through periodic reviews / audits & investigate security breaches, fraud cases and other incidents.
Develop intelligence network across peripheral villages/area, in order to get prior information with respect to any coercive action by any insurgent group.
Technology driven surveillance/vigilance system as a step further for process improvement.
Manage security operations and coordinate security initiatives across the site and area of responsibility as defined by the management.
Coordinate and implement site security measures for protection of company assets.
Support risk assessments and ensure proper risk management by implementation of appropriate controls and their effectives.
Undertake research and evaluation of technology solutions for innovative security solutions.
Drive and support intelligence and vigilance functions in support of security objectives.
Effectively engage with, and communicate across all levels of organization, including briefing executive management on security issues.
Lead, train and guide security team, design, develop and implement security manual, processes and systems to achieve effective security around the plant to ensure security of men, material and equipment to achieve organization’s business goal.
Manage the resource requirements (direct & indirect security staff) and collaborate with the vendors to ensure the implementation of contracts, monitor quality of service and resolve complaints and grievances of stakeholders.
Ensure effective implementation of security systems, deployment of resources and training of security staff.
The successful applicant should possess:
Educational Qualification: Graduate/Post Graduate
Experience: 18-20 years with minimum 3-5 years of direct experience in Corporate security leadership role.
Experience and deep understanding of Risk Management, Governance (compliance and audits) is desirable.
Prior experience in Manufacturing Industry (Metals, Mining, Oil and Gas) role is desirable.
CPP and other security related certifications will be preferred
Additional qualification / certification in relevant fields will be an added advantage
