Import-Export Executive
to handle and oversee all import and export operations within the
Logistics Department
at Gopani. This role is responsible for managing international shipments, ensuring compliance with regulations, and coordinating with customs, freight forwarders, and internal teams to ensure smooth logistics and timely delivery of goods.
Key Responsibilities :Coordinate Import-Export Operations : Manage day-to-day import-export processes, including the preparation of documentation, shipping coordination, and scheduling for both inbound and outbound shipments.Customs Clearance : Work closely with customs brokers and government authorities to ensure smooth and timely customs clearance for all shipments.Shipping and Logistics Management : Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and warehouses to ensure proper transportation, delivery, and storage of goods.Compliance : Ensure all import and export activities comply with local and international regulations, including tariff classifications, trade policies, and documentation requirements.Documentation : Prepare and verify all necessary shipping documents such as Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, Commercial Invoices, and Packing Lists for international shipments.Vendor Management : Collaborate with suppliers, shipping companies, and other stakeholders to resolve shipping issues, delays, and discrepancies.Inventory and Stock Control : Maintain accurate records of imported and exported goods, including stock availability, shipment status, and lead times.Risk Management : Identify potential risks in the supply chain and proactively address them to minimize delays and additional costs.Cost Optimization : Monitor and optimize freight and shipping costs by negotiating rates with freight forwarders and logistics partners.Coordination with Internal Teams : Work closely with the production, procurement, and finance departments to align logistics activities with overall business requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications :Educational Qualification : Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management or a related field.Experience : 2-4 years of experience in import-export logistics, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial products company.Knowledge of Import-Export Regulations : Deep understanding of INCOTERMS, customs regulations, trade compliance, and international shipping procedures.Documentation Expertise : Proficiency in preparing and reviewing shipping documents for imports and exports.Technical Skills : Knowledge of logistics software and ERP systems to track shipments and inventory.Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with internal teams, suppliers, and customs authorities.Problem-solving ability : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle any logistical challenges that may arise.Attention to Detail : High level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing and managing documentation and shipment processes.
