Mesh / Coherency Design Verification Engineer

The RoleYou will work on the verification of a server-class microprocessor-based CPU/Coherent Mesh interconnect. You'll be involved with all aspects of pre-silicon verification at unit and system level to ensure functional correctness and performance of microprocessors. You'll also partner with other teams to accelerate post-silicon validation and debug of the product.What the Team wants you to knowDesign Verification is an integral part of the chip design process that ensures our customers get the absolute highest quality products that meets their functional and performance requirements. We are a tightly-knit, fast-paced team who work extremely closely with our design and architecture partners to ensure no bug is left behind.What you’ll doDefine requirements for sub-system level and full-chip level testing infrastructureCreate test plans for sub-system and chip-level verification and post-silicon validationArchitect, design and implement test benches and other components of design verification environmentCreate random test generators to find bugs in designDebug failures and drive speedy resolution of bugsCreate coverage monitors and drive coverage to required quality targetsDefine post-silicon validation plans, and engage in post-silicon activities to accelerate product launchLead verification activities within a team and guide other engineers to achieve project goalsWhat you’ll bring2-5 years of hardware verification experienceSolid understanding of high-performance microprocessor architecture conceptsExperience using industry standard HDL languages (Verilog, System Verilog, VHDL) and simulation toolsExperience developing verification environments in one or more industry standard languages like SVTB UVM/OVMProgramming experience in languages common to the industry (e.g., C, C++, Perl, Python)Experience in automating design, verification, and validation tasksHands on experience in post-silicon validationKnowledge of ARM or x86 architecture and assembly language programmingPrevious experience in CPU/core design verification is preferredPrevious experience in Network-on-chip (NoC) design verification is preferredPrevious experience with Arm AMBA (APB/AHB/AXI/ACE/CHI) protocols is preferredEducationBS / MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer ScienceAbout AmpereAmpere is designing the future of hyperscale cloud and edge computing with the world’s first cloud native processor.
