Role Description:
Implementing and managing functional network infrastructure. Resolving issues that tiers of support have escalated. Mentoring team members and addressing user requests.
Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the position include:
Establishing networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
Requires use/knowledge of Cisco (Routers, Switches and wireless products)
Expertise in the design, analysis, optimization and operation of LAN/WAN and Wireless Services.
Maximizing network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with other departments on network optimization
Undertaking data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments, using information from multiple sources
Securing network system by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access
Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information and managing projects
Upgrading data network equipment to latest stable firmware releases
Capacity management and audit of IP addressing and hosted devices within Datacenters
Evaluate and recommend new and emerging security products and technologies
Good troubleshooting skills and identify / locate the area of problem
15+ years of experience with IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, RIP, MPLS, QOS) in a large enterprise environment
Knowledge and Hands-on experience on Cisco Routers including ASR and ISR routers
Knowledge and Hands-on experience on Cisco Switches including Nexus 5k, 7k and 9k
Knowledge and Hands-on experience on Fortinet Firewalls and Palo Alto firewalls.
Cloud Proxy Experience (Netskope, Zscalar) - perform health checks, pull reports, account maintenance and provisioning, troubleshoot issues, able to manage proxy, design /identify / implement new rules or changes etc
Hands on Experience in TCP/IP stack, Layer2, Layer 3 and Multicast
In the event of a “network down” situation, Ability to work swiftly to correct all networking problems.
Expertise in understanding different network topologies and configurations
Demonstrates a specialist understanding of Network Security concepts. Must possess experience in Cisco ASA and Fortinet firewall. Experience on Palo-Alto firewalls added advantage
Supporting internal and external audits.
Knowledge :
Must have Cisco CCNA, CCNP and NSE and Palo Alto Certifications
Datacenter network familiarization and management experience
Exposure in deploying high availability network architecture
Experience with dynamic routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, etc
Experience with various firewall technologies like Cisco ASA, Checkpoint, Juniper, Fortinet and Palo Alto
Knowledge on Vulnerability assessment & Intrusion Detection scans
Experience with network management utilities
Experience with Fortinet, Palo-Alto firewalls
Knowledge on ISO 27001, SOC Type1 and Type1 audits
Should have good communication Skills.
Must have worked with Monitoring tools.
Should have good knowledge in Security Architecture
