Role & responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures specific to interior design and fit-out projects.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations, industry standards, and company HSE policies.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections at project sites to identify potential hazards and unsafe practices.
  • Monitor proper usage of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) by workers and subcontractors.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, or near-misses and prepare reports with corrective/preventive actions.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety training, and awareness sessions for site workers.
  • Review and approve work permits, especially for high-risk activities (e.g., electrical work, working at heights, cutting/welding).
  • Maintain safety documentation, including safety audits, accident logs, and compliance reports.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure safety requirements are followed.
  • Assist in emergency preparedness plans, evacuation drills, and first-aid arrangements.
  • Ensure safe material handling, storage, and disposal at interior project sites.
  • Regularly update management on safety performance, risks, and compliance status.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Knowledge of workplace safety regulations (Factories Act, OSHA, NBC, IS codes, etc.).
  • Strong observation and hazard-identification skills.
  • Good communication and training ability (Hindi & English preferred).
  • Report writing and documentation skills.
  • Conflict resolution and the ability to enforce safety rules diplomatically.
  • Basic knowledge of firefighting, electrical safety, scaffolding safety, and chemical handling.
