Job Title : Associate Director - ESHQ

Purpose of the Position :
- To standardize ESH practices at ECI.
- To develop, implement, and drive strategic and operational ESHQ leadership.
- The incumbent sets the direction for the ESHQ program to improve or introduce new policies, set quality standards, procedures, practices, parameters and manages its execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Catalysts India ESH Coordinator -
- Standardize practices at site.
- Develop and monitor ESH objectives and targets.
- Support ESH due diligence for the site.
- Investigate major incidents at Company and report to management.
- Supporting APS and corporate ESH for execution of ESTER project at site.
- Follow-up on audit observations and recommendations.
- Establish ESH communication within site to share best practices and lesson learned.
- Drive ‘Safety at Evonik- Basic Principles of Safe Behavior’ program implementation at site.
- Ensure ‘Emergency Communication’ team established at site and known of press communication tools. Provide support to team in case of emergency situations.
Key Site Activities:
- Maintain a safe working environment at site.
- Implementation of Evonik’s Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Policy. Planning, establishing,
- implementing, and maintaining a variety of Occupational health, safety, environmental programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees.
- Responsible for overall development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS) & Environment Management System (EMS).
- Direct environmental compliance programs related to hazardous wastes, air permitting, and water pollution control.
- Design & impart training to nurture an Injury free Organization.
- Lead and support safety initiatives and processes to drive towards zero recordable injuries.
- Ensure effective implementation of QMS as per ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001 to achieve set objectives.
- Assist in new employee occupational health, safety and environmental orientation. Ensure periodical health checkup of employees.
- Conduct Safety Committee meetings. Lead and support safety initiatives and processes to drive towards zero recordable injuries.
- Act as a core Emergency Response Team member to handle emergency.
- Implementation and maintenance of the environmental management system.
- Continuous follow up and enhancing the S.A.F.E. score.
- Practice of ensuring that a workplace is continually safe.
- Interview employees to obtain information about work environments and workplace incidents.
- EHSQ budget preparation and monitoring.
- Monitoring, supporting, guiding for meeting timeline of all the EHS activities.
- Ensure promotion of customer focus within the department, as applicable.
- Ensure compliance of Safety standards at workplace including PPE’s in working environment.
- Responsible for handling ESHQ audit and coordinating other site audits.
- Coordination with statutory authorities for regulatory topics.
- Manage the site security topics.
Education & Experience required -
- BE in Chemical with minimum 10 years of experience in ESHQ function.
- Must be have completed Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety (State board technical education approved).
Additional skills and abilities required for this position
- Certified ISO Auditor
- Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
- Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
- Ability to developing relevant policies.
