Job Overview:
As a Technical Writer at Fynd Academy, you will be instrumental in creating high-quality, understandable, and accessible documentation for our products and services. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, creativity, and a keen eye for detail, ensuring all technical content meets the highest standards of clarity and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, create, and edit comprehensive user guides and documentation for our products.- Ensure all technical content is well-formatted, grammatically correct, and adheres to professional standards.- Review and create UI text for software applications, including tooltips, error messages, and labels.- Produce video tutorials to complement written documentation, enhancing user understanding and engagement.- Actively gather feedback from the business team to continually refine and address content requirements.- Collaborate with writers, designers, and developers to produce marketing materials, such as blogs and promotional content.- Assist company personnel with documentation-related queries, providing expertise and support as needed.- Develop API documentation, enhancing developer and user understanding of our interfaces.- Engage in the creation of technical case studies that demonstrate the real-world application and benefits of our products.
Basic Requirements/Mandates:
- 3+ years of experience in technical writing, particularly in software and product documentation.- Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies.- Proven ability to write, edit, research, and plan effective software documentation.- Excellent grammar, communication, and interpersonal skills.- Proficiency with Git commands and experience using GitHub/GitLab for version control.- Experience with static site generators and the docs-as-code methodology using tools like Sublime or VS Code.- Skilled in using image and video-editing tools such as Snagit, Photoshop, Filmora, or Camtasia.- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS.- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple projects with diverse teams.- Knowledge of the e-commerce domain is a significant advantage.
