Responsibilities

  • Server-Side Logic Development:
    Writing the core application logic that runs on the server. This includes creating features, handling data processing, and implementing business rules.
  • API Creation:
    Developing and maintaining Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), such as RESTful APIs, that allow the front end (what the user sees) and other services to communicate with the back end.
  • Database Management:
    Designing, implementing, and managing databases (both SQL and NoSQL). This includes creating database schemas, writing queries, and ensuring data is stored and retrieved efficiently and securely
  • Integration:
    Connecting the application with other third-party services, data sources, and APIs, like payment gateways, social media logins, and cloud services.
  • Security and Data Protection:
    Implementing security protocols and measures to protect sensitive data and prevent vulnerabilities. This involves handling user authentication, authorization, and data encryption.
  • Performance Optimization:
    Improving the application's speed, scalability, and efficiency. This includes debugging and troubleshooting issues, as well as optimizing code and database queries.
  • Collaboration:
    Working with a team, including front-end developers, product managers, and designers, to ensure seamless integration and a cohesive product.

Qualifications

  • Python Proficiency:
    A deep understanding of the Python language, its core libraries, and a variety of frameworks like
    Django
    or
    Flask
    .
  • Web Frameworks:
    Expertise in at least one popular Python web framework.
  • Database Skills:
    Strong knowledge of database systems like
    PostgreSQL
    ,
    MySQL
    , or
    MongoDB
    and the ability to write efficient queries.
  • Version Control:
    Experience with version control systems, most commonly
    Git
    , for managing and collaborating on code.
  • API Knowledge:
    A solid understanding of API design principles, including REST and other architectural styles.
  • Problem-Solving:
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to debug complex issues and find innovative solutions.
  • Soft Skills:
    Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively within a cross-functional team.
