We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with experience in AWS, Aurora PostgreSQL, and DocumentDB to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our databases. This role involves planning, developing, and troubleshooting to ensure our database systems run smoothly and securely.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and maintain our AWS, Aurora PostgreSQL, and DocumentDB databases, ensuring their performance, availability, and security.
2. Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required.
3. Assist in database design and enhancement, ensuring any changes align with business needs and goals.
4. Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, working closely with the development team.
5. Develop and manage database access, including creating roles and managing permissions.
6. Implement backup and recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.
7. Conduct regular system audits to ensure the effective and efficient operation of all database systems.
8. Provide technical support for the database environment, including overseeing the development and organization of the databases.
9. Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
Requirements:
1. Proven working experience as a Database Administrator, with specific experience in AWS, Aurora PostgreSQL, and DocumentDB.
2. Strong understanding of database structure principles and best practices.
3. Experience with database design, documentation, and coding.
4. Familiarity with data backup, recovery, and security.
5. Knowledge of database management system software, database performance tuning, database security measures, and structured query language (SQL).
6. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
8. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
9. AWS Certified Database Specialty certification would be a plus.
