Role:  Business Analyst / Data Analyst - MIS

Location:  Chennai

Experience:  1-3 Years

Purpose of the role:  A data or business analyst is responsible for organizing transactions, reference, temporary and metadata related to customers, suppliers, market research, logistics, or other behaviors. The analyst will utilize technical expertise to ensure data is accurate and high-quality. Data is then analyzed, designed, and presented in a way that assists stakeholders, business leaders and clients make better decisions.

Position Summary:  EXL is looking for a Business Analyst or Data Analyst to manage MIS, reporting and analytics services delivery. The candidate has an understanding and hands-on experience of standard analytical, reporting and data manipulation techniques, well-versed in a visualization tool and a good track record in delivering reporting and analytical insights.

Job Responsibilities (80% on conducting data analytics and maintaining data repositories & 20% on building and maintaining knowledge assets):

Work with high-volume and multi-dimensional data from different sources. Understand stakeholder's priority areas and business challenge to recommend solutions. Work as a member of the project team on reporting and analytics projects. Perform regular and ad-hoc business analysis - well-versed in quantitative analysis, research, data mining, trend analysis, customer profiling (Clustering, segmentation, and predictive modelling techniques are a plus) Create dashboards and reports that communicate insights to stakeholders. Provide support & maintenance to existing MIS reports. Generate & distribute management reports in an accurate and timely manner. Provide recommendations to update current MIS to improve reporting efficiency & consistency.

Desired Skills and Experience:

1-3 years of work experience, in the area of Reporting, Business Analysis using Descriptive and Predictive techniques. Background in Engineering/IT, MBA, or Economics. Have good experience in reporting using visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, etc. Well versed with SQL and proficiency with SQL based query languages and relational data concepts. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential (VBA is a plus) Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with teams in a timeline driven high pressure environment. Flexibility to work with different countries (time-zones), groups, and business environment.
