Optym is seeking a QA Engineer for our advanced analytics application. He/she will be responsible for the quality assessment of product deliverables for our Rail Suite.

Reports to: QA Manager/Project Manager

Responsibilities:

The QA engineer will be responsible for the creation of tests to identify issues with software before the product release. Duties include identifying and analyzing any bugs and errors found during the test phase and documenting them for review after. Other tasks include developing and running new tests, reporting on the results, and collaborating with software developers to fix program issues. Detailed responsibilities include:Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedbackCreate detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test casesEstimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activitiesIdentify, record, document thoroughly and track bugsPerform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolvedExecute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze resultsIdentify Database Test Scenarios. Write SQL scripts to test the backend features and perform integration testingWork with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycleDevelop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needTrack quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts

Mandatory SkillsB.Tech/ B.S. or M.Tech/ M.S. or equivalent in Computer Science, IT or related field.2-4 years of experienceProven work experience in software quality assuranceStrong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processesExperience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test casesHands-on experience with both functional and non-functional testingKnowledge on SQL and scriptingExperience working in an Agile/Scrum development processAbility to work well individually or in a group setting, and under pressure and time constraintsExperience in using Azure DevOps, TestRail, or any other test management toolDesirable SkillsExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to interact with clients.Experience with Agile methodologiesCollaborate with different team members.Experience in API/Performance testing & any programming language is added advantage.
