Key Responsibilities:

  1. Dispensing & Prescription Review

  2. Accurately dispense medicines as per doctors prescriptions.

  3. Check prescriptions for appropriateness, legality, dosage, drug interactions, and allergies.

  4. Provide clear instructions regarding dosage, administration, and storage of medicines.

  5. Patient Counseling & Care

  6. Educate patients on proper medication use, possible side effects, and adherence.

  7. Address queries related to medications, OTC products, and health supplements.

  8. Inventory & Stock Management

  9. Maintain adequate stock of medicines and ensure timely indenting.

  10. Monitor expiry dates and implement FEFO (First Expiry First Out) system.

  11. Manage storage conditions as per regulatory norms.

  12. Clinical & Technical Support

  13. Support medical and nursing staff in correct drug usage and availability.

  14. Assist in preparation and distribution of IV fluids, injectables, and high-risk medications.

  15. Participate in adverse drug reaction (ADR) monitoring and pharmacovigilance.

  16. Compliance & Documentation

  17. Ensure compliance with Drug & Cosmetic Act, Pharmacy Council guidelines, and hospital SOPs.

  18. Maintain accurate records for narcotics, psychotropics, and high-value drugs.

  19. Support in NABH/JCI accreditation and internal audits.

  20. Teamwork & Training

  21. Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals for smooth patient care.

  22. Guide pharmacy interns, trainees, or assistants as required.
  23. Attend departmental meetings, CME, and training sessions.
