Senior Software Developer - Linux - Healthcare Automation + Other Industries - $153,300 - $175,200 Salary Package Inc Super The Senior Software Developer – Linux is responsible for developing software solutions across the project lifecycle including design, development, testing and deployment tasks while working in a cross-functional team. Also, a key factor of this position is to evaluate current frameworks and design and implement robust solutions to any gaps and technical debt found. This role reports to the Software Development Manager. Day to Day Responsibilities: Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, code comments and clear code Develops software by following specifications or user stories and collaborates with project team to clarify if required Develops software for healthcare, medical devices and other industries Works as part of a team cross-functional team dealing with other developers working in same repository/project, as well as analysts, infrastructure, designers, etc. Works with support staff in tracing issues and designing and implementing robust solutions with the goal of continuous improvement Create and maintain documentation and code standards to ensure the project is accessible to new developers Contribute ideas and suggestions for continuous improvement across all aspects of the role or any other issues affecting themselves or the team Communicating software principles with non-technical customers or team members using a variety of methods (e.g. whiteboard sketches, analogies, etc.) Identifies and self-drives new opportunities for learning or training to keep up with evolving technology, processes, etc. Participates positively in an agile development culture and process, with ideas and suggestions for continuous improvement Provides advice, ideas and suggestions on support and issue investigations to assist with full- stack contributing cause analysis Provides input and collaboration on estimation and prioritization of requirements or user stories Participates positively a culture of development standards following maintainability and sustainability goals Communicates openly, provides structured feedback in peer code reviews Demonstrates composure when dealing with ambiguity, learning on the fly, or changing priorities Devises possible solutions to anticipated problems Tests sample data-sets to check that output from the program works as intended Attends meetings, workshops or similar with customers at varying levels of the business, end- users, and other stakeholders Contributes to detailed documentation for the operation of the program by users and computer operators Consults manuals, periodicals, training materials, and reports to learn new ways to develop programs and maintain existing skills and knowledge Adhere to Quality Management System (QMS) standards, attend QMS training sessions and strive to seek opportunities to continuously improve department quality processes and outcomes To be successful in this role ideally you will have: Relevant tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience) Senior level .NET experience including evaluating existing platforms and code bases, providing feedback and plans with improvements for future Experience and interest in test engineering, automation and continuous integration tools and processes Experience in Linux Interest in DevOps principles including test automation and continuous integration Proven verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with technical and non- technical team members, as well as customers Interest in approaching previously unknown technologies, codebases, languages, frameworks and processes potentially learning on the fly Demonstrates composure when dealing with ambiguity Experience working in an agile development environment Experience and skills communicating with customers directly in-person or via phone/email/etc. 7+ years software development experience Understanding of IEC 62304 requirements Understanding of requirements of ISO 13485 with respect to design and development It would be awesome if you had the following skills: Experience with WPF Exposure to hardware integration development Exposure to airline systems or other complex enterprise systems Experience with or knowledge of test automation, test engineering, continuous integration and continuous deployment tools and processes Experience working in a mature agile development environment Ideally, you are happy to work from home and from the office on a hybrid model to get the best of both worlds.
