Job Description

Summary:The Software Engineer-I designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Develops software tools including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Learnsand understandshardware and software systems and platforms

Providessoftware development support

Writescode for portions of an application

Worksclosely with and learns from the engineering team

Appliestechniques and methods learned in prior courses

Assistsin carrying out tasks requiring adherence to prescribed methods of design

Should learn basic programming while working in a team

Usescurrent programming languages and technologies to write code

Learnsto work within a team

Team oriented, collaborative, accountable, anddependable

Respondsto learning suggestionsand feedbackpositively

Open to coaching

Should learn how to document and communicate on technical topics

Learn about mainframe and how it connects with who Rocket is

Learn about foundation of the markets Rocket serves

Required Qualifications: 

Minimum of 1 year of software engineering experience  1 year of relevant Java software engineering experience, developing commercially successful applications that are scalable, highly available, and expose robust APIs. knowledge of data structures, algorithms and databases knowledge of Java, database, JDBC Experience with Sprint Boot Experience with Database (Preferred Db2) Experience with the Agile development methodology  Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to deal professionally and collaboratively with all levels of the organization and across geographies  Proven track record of software development in the real world  Proficient in one or more programming languages ​

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information technology or related field
