Job Description
Position: Accountant
Industry: Import & Export
Experience: 2 years experience
Salary : 20k-25k
Shift: Day shift (9:30-5:30)
Location: Ernakulam
Responsibilities :
1. Create and analyze liability, asset, and capital accounts by compiling electronic data and required documentation.
2. Summarize and prepare financial status and transactions reports, including a profit and loss statement, and other necessary reports.
3. Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
4. Comply with all federal, state, and local protocols including legal requirements, and interpret new and existing legislation.
5. Create a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for accounting policy and regulations, and roll out reconciliation procedures.
6. Monitor and maintain a new audit system by implementing new policies and procedures in the finance department.
7. Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
8. Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
9. Guide junior accountants and other staff by answering questions and coordinating informational classes.
10. Focus on tax compliance, state business registration, contract review.
11. Play a vital part in the company's financial management which includes all account reconciliations and reporting to necessary parties.
12. Monthly, quarterly, and yearly filings related to TDS, TCS, GST etc.
13. Finalization of accounts independently and assisting in statutory audits.
14. Liaise with our Finance manager and Accounting manager to improve financial procedures.
15. Reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum Two years experience working with intercompany transactions and reconciliation in preparation for audit.
  • Article ship experience in a CA firm or similar.
  • Good understanding of accounting related to imports and exports.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a leadership role.
  • Thorough understanding of financial application security ensuring that all financial data is secure and complies with confidentiality policies.
  • Proficient in the use of common business applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, Tally, income tax excel utilities, and other applications related to finance and accounting.
  • Outstanding communicator with established skills in accuracy, organization, and working in a high-volume environment.
  • Ensure a high level of quality control and management review.
  • Demonstrated ability to support all other departments within the company and coordinate training and information sessions.
