Position Title:Database Engineer (Migration)Experience:5–8 YearsLocation:(Remote- India)Role OverviewWe are seeking aDatabase Migration Specialistwith strong expertise inMS SQL Server and MongoDBto lead critical database transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible forsplitting large SQL databases into smaller entities, managing SQL scripting/versioning, migrating legacy DBs, and planning SQL-to-MongoDB migrations . This role requires close collaboration with developers, DBAs, and solution architects to ensure smooth migration strategies and robust, scalable database solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDatabase Transformation & MigrationSplit large SQL Server databases into smaller, optimized DBs while maintainingdata integrity and entity sanctity .Lead themigration of East DB data into West DBand decommission legacy databases.Plan and executeSQL → MongoDB migrationsin collaboration with Dev teams.Design and implementdata modelsfor SQL and MongoDB environments.SQL Development & VersioningWrite, optimize, and maintainT-SQL scriptsfor data manipulation, migration, and reporting.ImplementCI/CD pipelines for database scripts(Git, Liquibase, Flyway, or similar).Ensure proper version control and release management of database scripts.Migration Planning & ExecutionAnalyze existing database landscapes, identifying migration challenges, risks, and opportunities.Develop detailedmigration strategies, methodologies, and timelines .Document technical migration plans and present proposals to stakeholders.Monitor and validate data integrity post-migration.Collaboration & LeadershipCollaborate withDev teams, DBAs, Solution Architects, and Business Analyststo align migration strategies.Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members.Communicate risks, dependencies, and progress updates to stakeholders.
