Role Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and self-motivated Legal Executive / Legal Associate with 0 to 3 years of post-LLB experience to support our Government e-Marketplace (GeM) bidding processes and day-to-day legal operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a young law graduate who may not have prior experience in GeM, but possesses a strong research mindset, a willingness to understand public procurement systems, and the ability to learn quickly under the guidance of senior professionals.

The role requires proactive coordination with internal teams legal, commercial, and technical for bid preparation, legal documentation, compliance support, and contractual research. Candidates should be curious, organized, and ready to work in a structured, learning driven legal environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Law (LLB 3-year or 5-year degree) from a recognized university.
  • Enrollment with Bar Council preferred, not mandatory.
  • 0–3 years of work experience in legal, contract management, or public procurement roles.
  • Prior internship or experience with GeM bidding or tendering process is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of the GeM Portal bid upload, search filters, and document upload process.
  • Excellent command of MS Word and Excel formatting legal documents and maintaining tender trackers.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong research aptitude and document handling skills.
  • Ability to work diligently under supervision and manage deadlines.
  • Awareness of public procurement rules, General Financial Rules (GFRs), and GeM procurement policies.
  • Exposure to drafting or handling bid-related legal documents.
  • Familiarity with legal research tools like Manupatra, SCC Online, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

a.     Tender & GeM Portal Monitoring

  • Search and identify relevant tenders, EOIs, and RFPs on the GeM portal and other government platforms.
  • Extract and summarize eligibility conditions, documentation needs, and key deadlines.
  • Maintain and update trackers for tenders, pre-bid queries, submission timelines, and outcomes.

b.     Documentation & Compliance

  • Assist in preparing and reviewing bid documents, affidavits, authorizations, and declarations.
  • Ensure all submissions comply with government procurement guidelines and tender requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal departments

c.      Legal & Contractual Support

  • Support in drafting simple contracts, NDAs, and vendor documents.
  • Assist in reviewing clauses in RFPs, RFQs, and contracts from a legal and risk perspective.
  • Prepare legal notes and research briefs under supervision on matters like public procurement, service obligations, and contract compliance.

d.     Coordination & Support

  • Liaise with GeM representatives, departments, and procurement officials as needed.
  • Follow up on bid status, clarifications, and award communications.
  • Assist seniors in preparing legal responses, letters, and internal reports.

  • ₹2.5 – ₹5.0 LPA (depending on experience and capability)
