Preprimary teachers play a crucial role inthe early childhood education sector. You will be responsible forproviding a nurturing stimulating and safe environment for youngchildren typically between the ages of 4 to 6 years old. Preprimaryteachers facilitate the development of essential skills includingsocial emotional cognitive and physical abilities throughstructured activities and playbased learning.
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Planning :Design and implement ageappropriate lesson plans and activitiesthat cater to the developmental needs of young children.Incorporate various teaching methodologies including playbasedlearning storytelling arts and crafts and music andmovement.
Classroom Management: Create a conducive learning environment byestablishing clear routines rules and expectations. Manageclassroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcementstrategies and conflict resolution techniques.
Assessment and ProgressMonitoring :
Conduct ongoing assessmentsto evaluate children's progress and identify areas forimprovement. Maintain accurate records of each child'sdevelopment including observations assessments and anecdotalnotes.
ParentCommunication:
Establish open andtransparent communication with parents or guardians regarding theirchild's progress behavior and any concerns or issues thatmay arise. Collaborate with parents to support theirchild's learning and development at home.
Collaboration: Work collaborativelywith other preprimary teachers support staff and administrators tocreate a cohesive and integrated learning environment. Participatein team meetings professional development activities and schoolevents as required.
Health and Safety: Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children inthe classroom by following health and safety guidelines andprocedures. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activitiesincluding meal times nap times and playtime.
Professional Development: Stay updatedon the latest trends research and best practices in early childhoodeducation. Attend workshops seminars and training sessions toenhance professional knowledge and skills.
Qualifications and Soft Skills :
- Graduate plus B.Ed
- Courses in Child Development or a related field a plus.
- Previous experience working with youngchildren in a classroom setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development principles andtheories.
- Excellent communicationinterpersonal and organizational skills.
- Patience creativity and enthusiasm for working with youngchildren.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategiesto meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive learningenvironment.
