One of our clients is looking for a Head of Engineering and Analytics to join their team
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The role entails overseeing the strategic trajectory and roadmap of Tensight our analytics product. In this capacity, the role will work very closely with the founders and collaborate with other Business Unit heads to ensure strategic and market alignment. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for thorough execution of current Tensight deployments end to end ensuring timelines.
Continuously refine the product strategy based on evolving market dynamics, customer feedback, and internal capabilities. Ensure that the product remains aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
Provide engineering insights and architectural oversight on the best practice and ideal methodology to implement to enable scale and lower costs of infrastructure.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements in the analytics space. Conduct regular market analysis to identify emerging opportunities and threats, and adjust the product strategy accordingly.
Foster strong relationships with key customers to understand their evolving requirements, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for product improvement. Act as a trusted advisor, guiding customers on best practices and maximizing value from the product.
Prioritize new features and enhancements, based on customer needs, competitive analysis, and resource constraints. Balance short-term demands with long-term product vision.
Oversee the execution of the product roadmap, ensuring that initiatives are delivered on time and within budget. Work closely with cross-functional teams to address dependencies, mitigate risks, and overcome obstacles.
Provide leadership, direction, and support to the team. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability. Invest in the professional development of team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional business teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of product initiatives.
Identify and mitigate risks that may impact the product's success, such as technical challenges, regulatory changes, or market disruptions. Develop contingency plans and proactive strategies to address potential threats.
REQUIREMENTS:
Engineering / Computer Science background with proven track record of managing end-end product lifecycle in the analytics space. Should have built a front-end analytics application ground up and scale
Proficiency in Python programming language for data analysis, manipulation, and visualization. Experience with popular libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib is essential.
7+ years overall working in Data Engineering in Data Analytics firms with 5+ years of experience in overseeing/managing a team.
Should have a good grasp of analytics frameworks and concepts - ensuring the teams are able to automate recommendations via AI/ML.
Experience in dealing with Large Data Sets with deep expertise in managing databases, infrastructure on AWS / Cloud
Experience working in product company specializing in Retail / Supply Chain / Marketing (highly preferred)
Experience with agile methodologies and product management tools is a plus.
Strategic mindset with the ability to identify market opportunities, define product vision, and develop long-term product roadmap aligned with business objectives.
Strong focus on understanding customer needs, gathering feedback, and translating insights into product requirements and features that deliver value to users.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts, present findings, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to analyze complex problems, break them down into manageable components, and develop innovative solutions that meet user needs and drive business impact.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to ensure alignment and successful execution of product initiatives.
