JOB TITLE

Enterprise Architect

ROLE DESCRIPTION

1. The Enterprise Data Architect performs highly advanced data architecture, data designing work for organization's current and future data infrastructure and identifying areas for improvement. Helps create and developing data models and databases that meet the organization's requirements.2. Combines engineering expertise with innovation and ingenuity to deliver robust, enterprise-scale data platforms. The position engages with multiple cross functional groups to understand and effectively respond to complex inquiries from clients, coworkers, and or management to solve advanced problems and develop a variety of options in complex situations.3. Work involves developing and designing dimensional databases. Applies dimensional theory and business process analysis to the development of logical data models and converts these logical models into physical database objects using data modeling CASE tools.4. Responsible for data policies, standards, designs, and action plans for enterprise-wide data governance, data system integrity and integration.

ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Architecture Design:

• Records detailed logical and physical data models in the information repository and coordinates the publication and maintenance of these models.

• Ensures appropriate integration of models and designs across the enterprise

• Skill in enterprise level database design, including data security and access auditing considerations, and full data lifecycle management (gathering, cleansing, publishing, archiving, back-up and recovery, and purging) for large enterprise systems.

• Facilitates database design sessions with key business stakeholders and translates business requirements into logical and physical system designs for large complex projects.

• Designs the optimal data presentation environment for the customer and works with various reporting tools.

2. Data Strategy Planning

• Candidate should be able to design, develop and maintain an enterprise data architecture strategy aligned with the organization's business objectives.

3. Database Performance:

• Coordinates with specific database performance monitoring and tuning tasks including the design of optimization and indexing schemes for complex projects.

• Develops, tests, and implements complex ETL (extract, transformation, and load) routines.

4. Leadership:

• Leads the team of data engineers for physical database design and implementation process for large complex projects.

• Leads the effort to ensure proper integration with existing data, standards, and business processes.

• Leads large, complex projects through development of project work plans, recommendations for optimal utilization of resources, milestone tracking, and coordination of project team efforts. Keeps management and customers informed of progress and exceptions.

• Leads the development and implementation of system backup, recovery, and support plans and assists in the definition of standards for these plans.

• Leads the definition of and subsequently follows enterprise and department-specific standards and methodologies.

5. Data Governance and Compliance

• Establish and enforce data governance processes for the enterprise architecture.

• Ensure compliance with architectural standards and policies.

6. Vendor Management

• Evaluate and select technology vendors and solutions that align with the enterprise database architecture.

• Collaborate with vendors to ensure successful implementation and integration e.g. databricks etc.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/information systems from an accredited college. Master’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred

• 10+ years of business/technology work experience

• 7+ years of hands-on experience implementing data management solutions

• Experienced working in Azure Cloud ecosystem

• Working knowledge of BI architecture, data warehousing concepts, and data integration best practices

• Working knowledge of the BI tools like Power BI, Tableau

• Knowledge and experience with Big Data solutions a plus

• High level of SQL language proficiency with PostgreSQL, SQL Server and other database management systems.

• Demonstrated understanding of enterprise data warehouse, big data, BI & analytics, content management and data management

• Experience with Azure Cosmos DB (a fully managed NoSQL), Databricks.

Candidates with experience in Automotive industry are preferred.
