As an L2 NOC Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining our network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and uptime for our clients. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in managing Cisco routers, switches, firewalls (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto), and Juniper SRX devices.
Key Responsibilities:Network Monitoring:
Monitor and manage network performance, identifying and resolving any potential issues to ensure seamless network connectivity and uptime.Incident Management:
Diagnose and troubleshoot network-related incidents, including outages, slowdowns, and other performance-related issues, while ensuring swift resolution within agreed service levels.Device Configuration & Support:
Perform configuration changes, upgrades, and troubleshooting of network devices (Cisco routers, switches, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, and Juniper SRX).Traffic Analysis & Optimization:
Analyze network traffic and performance, implement optimizations, and provide recommendations to improve network efficiency.Firewall & Security:
Configure and manage security policies on Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, and Juniper SRX firewalls. Troubleshoot and resolve firewall and security-related issues.Documentation:
Maintain accurate documentation for network configurations, incident logs, troubleshooting steps, and solutions.Collaboration:
Work closely with the L3 team to escalate complex issues, ensure quick resolution, and provide status updates to clients.Change Management:
Participate in network change management processes to ensure proper implementation and minimal service disruptions.Performance Reporting:
Generate reports on network health, incidents, and resolutions for internal and client review.
Required Skills & Qualifications:Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Experience:
Minimum of 6+ years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment with hands-on troubleshooting and support for Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
Technical Expertise:Cisco Routers & Switches (Layer 2/3)Cisco ASA FirewallsPalo Alto FirewallsJuniper SRX FirewallsNetwork protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS,
SNMP)VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN, MPLS, GRE)Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, etc.)
Certifications (Preferred):Cisco CCNA/CCNP (or equivalent)Palo Alto PCNSEJuniper JNCIA/JNCIPITIL Foundation (preferred)
Soft Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
