Supply Chain Engineer (Electrical Assembly Experience)


Location: Maharashtra

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Preferred Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or logistics, with specific experience in electrical assembly or related industries


Position Overview:


We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Engineer with a strong background in electrical assembly to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in optimizing supply chain operations, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring seamless integration of materials and components for electrical assemblies in a high-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Supply Chain Strategy Development:
  • Design and implement robust supply chain strategies tailored to electrical assembly processes.
  • Drive initiatives for cost reduction, lead-time optimization, and inventory management.
  • Supplier Management:
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers specializing in electrical components and assemblies.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with vendors to ensure best value procurement.
  • Procurement & Material Planning:
  • Oversee procurement activities, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality materials.
  • Develop material requirement plans (MRP) based on production schedules and demand forecasts.
  • Process Optimization:
  • Analyse and refine supply chain workflows to improve efficiency and reduce bottlenecks in the electrical assembly production process.
  • Leverage technology and automation to streamline supply chain operations.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to address material or assembly-related challenges.
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) by sourcing materials and coordinating with suppliers.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure supplier compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and environmental sustainability requirements.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to resolve material quality issues.
  • Risk Management:
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions or material shortages.


Key Qualifications:


  • Strong knowledge of electrical components, assemblies, and associated supply chain requirements.
  • Expertise in ERP systems and supply chain software for planning and procurement.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of Lean and Six Sigma principles in supply chain optimization.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for electrical assembly processes.


Preferred Skills:


  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCP, or CPIM) is a plus.
  • Experience in managing global supplier networks and working with international suppliers.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading supply chain transformation projects.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices in supply chain management.
