Job Summary:

The Communication Strategist will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing strategic communication initiatives that enhance the university's brand presence, reputation, and engagement across multiple social media and other platforms. This role involves developing compelling messaging, overseeing content creation, and ensuring brand consistency in all communications. The strategist will collaborate with various departments to align communication strategies with the university's vision and objectives.

Key Responsibilities: Strategic Communication & Brand Management:
  • Develop and implement communication strategies that align with the university's brand positioning, goals, and values.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across all internal and external communication channels.
  • Identify key brand narratives and develop storytelling approaches to enhance audience engagement.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to refine messaging strategies.
Content Development & Management:
  • Craft high-impact content, including press releases, speeches, articles, blogs, newsletters, website content, and social media posts.
  • Oversee the development of multimedia content (videos, infographics, presentations) to strengthen the university's communication efforts.
  • Work closely with designers, videographers, and content creators to maintain high-quality and brand-aligned content.
  • Proofread and edit content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and brand consistency.
Internal & Stakeholder Communication:
  • Support university leadership in communicating strategic initiatives and key announcements.
  • Develop internal communication strategies to engage faculty, staff, and students.
  • Collaborate with academic departments, research centers, and administrative offices to highlight their achievements and initiatives.
  • Assist in scripting speeches, reports, and presentations for university officials.
Campaigns & Events Communication:
  • Plan and execute communication campaigns for university events, conferences, and student activities.
  • Develop promotional strategies for university admissions, academic programs, and institutional milestones.
  • Collaborate with event teams to create engaging pre-event, live, and post-event communication materials.
  • Evaluate campaign success using data analytics and feedback.
Social Media & Digital Strategy:
  • Develop and oversee social media strategies that align with the university's communication goals.
  • Monitor trends and create real-time content to enhance digital engagement.
  • Track and analyze social media performance to optimize content strategies.
  • Ensure online reputation management and handle crisis communication on digital platforms.
Required Qualifications & Skills: Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in strategic communications, branding, PR, or digital media agencies.
Technical & Soft Skills:
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to detail.
  • Expertise in media relations, press release writing, and crisis communication.
  • Knowledge of branding principles, content strategy, and digital marketing.
  • Familiarity with content management systems, social media platforms, and analytics tools.
  • Ability to develop creative campaigns and engagement strategies.
  • Strong project management and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
