We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Test Engineer with strong expertise in testing mainframe applications, validating business logic, and ensuring high-quality deliverables in large-scale enterprise environments. The role involves working closely with developers, business analysts, and other QA members to deliver defect-free solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform functional, system, integration, and regression testing for mainframe applications.
  • Analyze business requirements, technical specifications, and test scenarios to design effective test cases.
  • Execute test cases using JCL, COBOL, DB2, VSAM, CICS and validate outputs.
  • Work on batch job testing, online transaction testing, and database validations.
  • Manage test data creation, stubs, and drivers for mainframe applications.
  • Log, track, and verify defects using tools like JIRA / ALM / Rally.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, business, UAT).
  • Ensure adherence to QA processes, standards, and best practices.
  • Provide status reports and support in test planning and estimation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 6 years of hands-on experience in Mainframe Testing.
  • Strong knowledge of JCL, COBOL, DB2, CICS, VSAM.
  • Experience in Batch & Online application testing.
  • Good understanding of test management tools (HP ALM, JIRA, or similar).
  • Ability to write SQL queries for DB2 data validation.
  • Experience in defect lifecycle management and working in Agile/Waterfall environments.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
