One of the major functional group of this entity is LIGHT (Lam India Global Hardware Technology). The LIGHT group, designs subassemblies and subsystems for Lam’s product lines, providing innovation for the next-generation products, providing improvements in cost and reliability There is an opening for the role of Mechanical Engineer, Sr for GFO team within Customer Support Business Group (CSBG) of LIGHT organization. This position will be based out of Bangalore and will closely be working with the engineering & cross functional teams across global regions. CSBG mainly focuses on delivering value to customers throughout the product lifecycle by providing Spares, Upgrades, and services to maximize the value of customer capital assets. What You’ll Do Design, development, and implementation of custom medium complex mechanical tooling, fixturing to enable handling, assembly and/or disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies in a semi equipment. Participate in conceptualization, modeling, analysis, development, documentation, and test/validation of fixtures Design parts using metals, ceramics, quartz, plastics, with advanced coatings/plating. Ensures documentation is consistent with SEMI, Lam and other standards as applicable (ANSI, DIN etc.) Proficient in GD&T- demonstrates knowledge and ability to apply. Develops and presents reports/presentations of excellent quality that communicate design intent, analysis, and validation. Close interactions with suppliers and other Lam internal departments to ensure high quality, well tested and cost optimized solutions. Prepares all required deliverables requested by product development plan (e.g., FMEA, technical specifications, risk analysis, test specifications, design review presentations) Who We’re Looking For Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engg with minimum 6 yrs of relevant experience or master’s degree in mechanical engg with minimum 4 yrs of relevant experience. Mandatory skills and experience required to perform the job: Hands-on experimental and design background coupled with solid engineering skills. Deep expertise in mechanical fixtures design for installation/service for semiconductors or other large equipment industry. Hands on experience to take design from concepts thru detailed drawing, parts procurement, DFM interaction with suppliers, assembly, test, build verification. Knowledge of DFX process (Design for Manufacturability, Cost, Assembly and Serviceability) to optimize designs. Ability to work well in a team, in a fast-paced environment with aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities while being a team player. Exposure to CAD-Creo/NX, drawings, GD&T, tolerance stack up analysis. Ability to perform simple and medium complex hand calculations, FEA using NX Nastran/Creo Simulate to self-verify the design. Additional Desired Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present design concepts to peers and management in a professional and effective way. Critical thinker with proven ability to create solutions for complex engineering problems with an ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal guidance. Experience in semiconductor industry with knowledge on SEMI/Ergonomic and safety standards for equipment design.
