Position Title: Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager Assembly
Function: Assembly Shop
Department: Production

Reporting To: Sr. Manager Assembly Shop

Role & Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage teams for day-to-day work allocation, monitoring schedules, and driving productivity through best practices and cycle time reduction.
2. Strong knowledge of structural jigs/fixtures, hand tools, and cutting tools used in aerospace assembly.
3. Review manufacturing process sheets, customer drawings, specifications, and standards; coordinate with supporting departments to resolve shop floor queries.
4. Estimate man-hours, conduct time studies, line balancing, and apply costing knowledge to improve efficiency.
5. Ensure compliance with aerospace quality and safety standards (AS 9100, QMS 9001:2008, EHS 14001:2004).
6. Proficient in ERP systems (SAP – PP Module).
7. Achieve daily production targets to meet monthly demand, monitor rework/rejection rates, and implement corrective actions.
8. Drive best practices for productivity improvement and cycle time reduction.

Knowledge & Skills Required

• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply build-to-print concepts in aerospace manufacturing.
• Deep understanding of aircraft structural assemblies and processes.
• Familiarity with quality audits, EHS compliance, and aerospace production standards.
• Strong people management, planning, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: B.E. (Mechanical) / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience: 10–13+ years in aerospace structural assembly (mandatory)
• Industry Preference: Aerospace
