Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development :Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Engineers focused on AWS and GCP infrastructure, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence.Develop and communicate clear goals and priorities for the team, ensuring alignment with business objectives.Provide guidance and support in resolving complex technical issues, promoting best practices, and facilitating knowledge sharing within the team.Reliability & Scalability :Own the availability, reliability, and scalability of core services across AWS and GCP.Implement and monitor service-level objectives (SLOs), service-level indicators (SLIs), and error budgets to measure and improve system reliability.Collaborate with engineering teams to design and deploy scalable, high-performance cloud solutions that meet both operational and business needs.Automation & Infrastructure Management :Lead the automation of operational workflows, including provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and incident management for both AWS and GCP.Drive the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices (e.g., Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, GCP Deployment Manager).Oversee the implementation of CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies to ensure faster and more reliable releases.Incident Management & Resolution :Lead incident management efforts, ensuring prompt response to critical incidents and minimizing downtime.Implement post-incident reviews (PIRs) to identify root causes, improve processes, and share learnings across teams.Continuously improve the incident response process to reduce MTTR (Mean Time to Recovery) and improve system stability.Collaboration & Communication :Collaborate with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to integrate SRE best practices into the software development lifecycle.Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing regular updates on service reliability, incident status, and team achievements.Monitoring & Observability :Ensure comprehensive monitoring and observability practices across AWS and GCP environments using tools such as AWS CloudWatch, GCP Stack driver, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and system failures, using metrics and logs to drive improvements in system reliability.Continuous Improvement :Advocate for continuous improvement in operational practices, tooling, and processes.Stay current on industry trends, new AWS and GCP offerings, and best practices for reliability engineering.

Qualifications:Education :Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).Experience :10+ years in IT operations with 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, or infrastructure roles, with deep knowledge of both AWS and GCP cloud environments.5+ years of experience in a leadership or management role, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.Proven expertise in designing, deploying, and maintaining highly available, scalable systems on AWS and GCP.Hands-on experience with cloud services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, GKE, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, and Pub/Sub.Technical Skills :Expertise in automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Google Deployment Manager.Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation and orchestration.Experience with containerization and orchestration, including AWS ECS, EKS, and GCP GKE.Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and deployment strategies across AWS and GCP.Experience with monitoring and logging tools like AWS CloudWatch, Stackdriver, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.Soft Skills :Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative environment.Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.Problem-solving mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement, risk management, and high availability.Certifications (Preferred) :AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer.
