An expeditor is responsible for transporting goods from one place to another as quickly and efficiently as possible. They are responsible for determining all of the different methods for transporting goods. A few of the main duties of an expeditor are tracking an order, handling delivery delays, coordinating with the warehouse manager, and ensuring all orders have been shipped out. They also have to create reports based on the shipping health of an organization. Some of the jobs titles that an expeditor could grow into are warehouse manager and operations manager.
An expeditor should have two years of experience in distribution as well as a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in business. One of the most important skills that an expeditor will have is great time management. Another skill is attention to detail as the expeditor will have to track good from all over the world.
