Database Administrator Full Time - 1 Year (Extendable) Location - Riyadh, KSA Experice : 5+ Years    Summary The Database Administrator will manage, optimize, and secure our database systems. The role involves extensive experience in SQL Database Administration (including monitoring, backups, and performance tuning) and MongoDB (preferably), along with a solid understanding of performance monitoring and optimization techniques for databases. - The Database Administrator will ensure the reliability, integrity, and availability of database systems, implement efficient backup and recovery strategies, and monitor performance to ensure smooth operations across various platforms. Challenges : * Data Growth: Managing and storing increasing amounts of data. * Data Security: Protecting sensitive customer and financial information from cyber threats. * Performance Optimization: Ensuring databases can handle heavy workloads and provide fast response times. * Regulatory Compliance: Adhering to industry regulations and data privacy standards. SQL Database Administration: -Database Monitoring: Oversee the health and performance of SQL databases, ensuring availability, reliability, and scalability. -Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage comprehensive backup and recovery plans for SQL databases, ensuring data protection and disaster recovery capabilities. -Database Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances, databases, and related components. -Security Management: Administer database security policies, manage user access, and ensure compliance with best practices. -Troubleshooting and Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in SQL queries, indexing, and server performance. Optimize database configurations for maximum efficiency. -Patching and Upgrades: Perform regular database software updates and patches to keep systems up to date and secure. -Replication and High Availability: Configure and maintain high-availability solutions such as Always On Availability Groups, database replication, and clustering.  -Database Performance Tuning: Continuously monitor and optimize SQL query performance, server load, and resource utilization. -Automation: Develop scripts for database automation tasks (backup, maintenance, monitoring). Technical - Functional Requirements -SQL Databases: SQL Server, T-SQL, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Always On Availability Groups, replication, and clustering -MongoDB: MongoDB Atlas, replica sets, sharding, MongoDB backup/restore strategies -Performance Monitoring Tools: SQL Profiler, SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer, MongoDB Monitoring Service (MMS), Nagios, Zabbix, or similar -Backup Tools: SQL Server Backup, MongoDB Backup, Veeam, or other database-specific backup tools -Scripting and Automation: PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting languages for automation of database tasks -Operating Systems: Windows Server (for SQL Server), Linux (for MongoDB, if applicable) Education and Certifications - Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience - Certifications (preferred): Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar SQL certification Behaviors - Values Requirements -Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, especially in database performance-related issues -Strong communication and documentation skills -Ability to work independently and as part of a team-Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work -Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment Experiences Required -Minimum of 4 years of experience in database administration, with a strong focus on SQL Server. -Experience with MongoDB is highly preferred. -Proven experience in database performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization. -Solid understanding of backup and recovery processes, as well as high availability and disaster recovery strategies   Powered by JazzHR
