Job Description:
We seek a highly skilled and experienced Senior Lighting Artist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of lighting techniques, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for creating visually stunning images. As a Senior Lighting Artist, you will be responsible for bringing our 3D environments and characters to life by crafting dynamic and realistic lighting setups. You will work closely with the VFX Supervisor, CG Supervisor, and other team members to ensure that all lighting elements align with the artistic vision of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement high-quality lighting setups that enhance the mood, atmosphere, and visual style of the project.
Collaborate with the VFX Supervisor, CG Supervisor, and other departments to ensure consistency and quality across all lighting elements.
Create and refine lighting setups for characters, environments, and visual effects, ensuring they meet both artistic and technical requirements.
Work with shaders, materials, and render settings to achieve the desired look and feel.
Optimize lighting setups for performance while maintaining visual fidelity.
Troubleshoot and resolve lighting issues that may arise during production.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior lighting artists, helping them to develop their skills and grow within the team.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new technologies in lighting and rendering.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in lighting for film and television production.
Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in lighting, composition, and color theory.
Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Maya, Houdini, Arnold, RenderMan, or similar.
Experience with real-time rendering engines (e.g., Unreal Engine) is a plus.
Solid understanding of PBR (Physically Based Rendering) workflows.
Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with different departments.
